Re: Warmer version with 2 switches

  1. Down - "slightly" boost
  2. Middle - no boost
  3. Up - boost
Am I right?
That's right!

Wow, nice to see this old one! :)
I can definitely say this pedal doesn't have a converter, so you can use a 12V power supply. Just be careful with polarity - the Warmer needs a center-negative power plug.

Re: Warmer version with 2 switches

Hi There

I have probably rather old version of Warmer that I bought at secondary market that has just two switches

3-position marked with "Bass Key" pictogram - Not sure, but looks like cut/keep/boost bass
2-position marked with "Lightning" pictogram - I guess it controls clipping mode ...

Hi! Could you show a photo of the inside of the pedal? The early 2-toggle versions didn't have an internal voltage doubler, while later ones did. The answer depends on your particular version.

Re: 12AX7

Hello! I'm interested in opinions on which 12AX7 preamp tubes (and their equivalents) produce the highest gain?

Hello! 12AX7 is a dual triode model with specific characteristics, just like 12AT7 and 12AU7. The transconductance and gain coefficient should be approximately the same across all ...

Re: Colossus IR length

I think a unit like the QC should have all options. It should be able to play the very long IR's and the short ones. If you want to
add reverb, room, ambiance, etc., with other tools using the 20ms IR's either as first or second option. I would maybe call it a consumer and an expert mode for the ...

Re: Colossus IR length

Hello Vasili!

Regarding the IR length, I totally get what you are saying and think that having an IR player capability with 20ms is really great for a preamp priced that fair.
As far as I know, this length is exactly what the Quad Cortex is offering as well. Albeit there are people criticising ...

Re: Colossus IR length

I have no technical knowledge but my belief, or experience is that I can hear or maybe more then this feel a difference between the exact same IR when it got 200ms and 500ms. There is a video from MLSoundLabs which try's to prove that there are differences as well. I honestly don't understand how ...
